On 24 July 2018, the Government published its revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
The revised NPPF sets out the Government’s planning policies for England and how these should be applied. It replaces the original NPPF which was published in 2012.
The revised NPPF took immediate effect and therefore is relevant to all ‘live’ planning applications and planning appeals which have yet to be determined and developers and their advisors need to therefore be aware of the changes to national planning policy contained in the revised NPPF and how this affects their development schemes.
The Government has also indicated that national planning practice guidance will be updated in future to reflect the changes in the revised NPPF.
